Ray was born in Sunderland and studied art at the Sunderland School of Art & Industrial Design. He worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for nearly 30 years until he took the decision to paint professionally full-time. The development of his career as an artist has led to painting becoming a way of life for Ray, keeping him extremely busy with commissions for his originals. His work is mainly in water-colour and he specialises in capturing great sporting moments in motor racing. His meticulous and exacting style brings the spectacle of the track to life and has earned him an enviable reputation in the world of motor sport art. Rays work was first published in 1995. In 1995 Ray Goldsbrough was approached by Solomon & Whitehead who asked him to produce a painting of Carl Fogarty for publication, and the rest as they say, is history. Some ten Limited Editions have been published in the 'Foggy' series and all have sold out. Since this first series many of major motor racing champions have been celebrated in paintings by Ray, including the very successful series of Valentino Rossi. Formula one became Ray Goldsborough's next target with a superb series of paintings showing Michael Schumacker and Lewis Hamilton among others. Since then these highly successful collections of Limited Edition prints and Fine Art prints have become collectors items with many of them signed by the famous riders and drivers. Now all these art prints are sold out at the publisher with many of these motor racing art prints are now sold out from most dealers and very sought after.

| Big Star Gone by Ray Goldsbrough Five times World Motorcycle Champion Joey Dunlop was tragically killed in 2000 while racing in Estonia. Joey started racing in 1969 and competed for the first time in the Isle of Man TT in 1976. His first TT victory was in 1977 when he won the Jubilee Classic on a Rea Yamaha. He went on to win 26 TTs, gaining 80 TT Replicas from 98 starts in a 25 year TT career. He also had 24 Ulster Grand Prix wins, a total that is unlikely to be surpassed. Joey not only directed his energies to winning races, for which he was awarded the MBE, but also to helping others and his charity work earned him a well-deserved OBE. Known simply and affectionately by all as Yer Maun, Joey Dunlop was a legend in his own lifetime. Signed limited edition of 500 prints. Image size 24 inches x 17 inches (61cm x 43cm).
